If you have a bad day where everything goes wrong, speaking from experience, this is a book you need to cheer you up, in fact, you need it even if you have had a perfect day. It will only make it better.
Nick Karharchek senses that trouble is on the way when he sees Billie Pearce, gorgeous, divorced mother of two. While her kids are spending their summer month with their dad, she is taking polo lessons for exercise. Unfortunately, she can not ride a horse, and on the first lesson manages to break her foot, requiring the teacher, rich playboy, Nick, to take her to the ER and then home. Knowing she will need care, he concocts a plan to give her that and some extra money, plus it will benefit him. If she agrees to rent a room to his ding dong cousin, DeeDee, he will give her free lessons, and he will get a chance to get her into bed. Reluctantly, Billie agrees, negotiating for lifetime lessons, not the three offered.
DeeDee and her luggage arrive, and she immediately begins making trouble. Nothing is quite good enough, and she is determined to keep Billie from becoming one of the women her cousin loves and leaves, so she immediately begins trying to set her up with the pro wrestlers with whom her fiance works.
However, Billie has already fallen for Nick, and it is not long before they begin a sham engagement to try and get DeeDee to shut up. It does not take Nick but a few minutes to want it to be for real, but Billie has her doubts about the whole situation. Not only that, but someone begins breaking in, blowing up things, and other malicious mischief. At first, they suspect DeeDee's genius, but flaky brother Max. Yet, Max has always been harmless. As the wedding draws near, the possibility that it will never be becomes stronger as the danger increases and Billie has a huge blow up with Nick.
The one complaint I have is that the book ended. I loved every character, especially Nick. Where are the men like him? Billie is just like you and me. Her kids are used just right; they play a part, but don't steal the story. DeeDee and Max are priceless. If this really is going to be a series, then I do hope they are permanent guests.
